The drawing group provides self tutored life drawing classes for people who live in South Bucks, Oxon and Berks. Stokenchurch is on the boundary of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Berkshire is only about eight miles distant. High Wycombe, Thame, Henley on Thames, Watlington, Maidenhead are all close by.
We meet on Wednesday afternoons for approximately 50 weeks of the year in a studio space near the centre of Stokenchurch. The meetings last from 1:00 pm until around 5:00 pm. The drawing class runs from 1:30 until 4:30, with a break about half way through.
Big plans for 2018
My New years resolution is the have a special session during the first Wednesday of each month from March onwards. This will not necessarily be a longer day.
This is a list of what I have in mind :-
|April||Paint day Simply one pose for all of the session|
|May||Fast day Model moves to a new pose when they feel like it.|
|June||Snap Day Model allows phone pictures for snaps of the pose.|
|July||Real Photo Day More specialist day for SLR camera users.|
|August||Bus Queue drawing day. Model works along a line of 15 poses.|
|September||Model with accessories (Georgina and her boots…..)|
|October||Decorated model (Tattooed) A very challenging day drawing day|
|November||Fuzzy Day model seen through defusing screens. Soft focus approach for chalk, pastel, and charcoal workers.|
Remember that you can still attend and draw with pencil if you want. None of the above should prevent anyone from doing this except the SLR day.
I might have to run this with only 3 people on another day of the week anyway. With a lot of lighting being used there really isn’t enough room for more to work at once.
Please write comments and tell us what you think about these plans and add your own ideas too! Feed back from the group, even if you can’t attend regularly is always a great help.
We are a very small, not for profit life drawing class. Unlike many figure drawing or life drawing classes, we continue to meet during the school holidays and the long summer vacation, when many other groups close.
Space is limited to five bookable places at all of our drawing sessions. The fee for each 3 hour drawing session is 15 pounds .
The class is run as a workshop, and is self tutored: members work on their own ideas, some of which can be seen in our members gallery. Regular members can exhibit online.
If you would like to try one of our drawing sessions please click on the
link:email@example.com. We welcome new members of all ages. You do not commit yourself to attending every week.
The venue is close to Exit 5 on the M40 and well served by buses from Thame, High Wycombe, and the surrounding villages.
